Perfect Pizza Dough

Have you ever taken a bite of pizza and the crust was absolute perfection? Slightly crispy on the outside, and soft goodness on the inside. You take in a deep breath and savor that very bite. This recipe for Perfect Pizza Dough is exactly what you’re looking for!

Simple Ingredient list for the perfect crust:

1 cup Warm Water

½  Tbs Dry Yeast

1 tsp Sugar

2.5 cups of Flour

½ tsp Salt

½ Tbs Olive oil

The first step you’ll need to do is, stir yeast and sugar into the warm water in a small bowl, set aside for 5 minutes.

Then put one cup of flour in your mixing bowl. Pour the water, yeast, and sugar mixture, over the flour. Mix until combined.

Next up, you will need to add the remaining flour into the mixture, the salt, and then combine with the kneading hook. If necessary, add in a little more flour till the dough forms a ball without sticking to the sides.

Knead the dough on low-medium speed for 8-10 minutes.

Drizzle some olive oil in a large bowl, and lightly coat the inside of the bowl.

Pull the dough out of the mixer and form into a ball. Place the dough into the oiled bowl.

Spray some plastic wrap with cooking spray, and lay over the top of the dough, covering the top of the whole bowl.

Let the dough rise for 2 hours.

Place pizza stone, or cookie sheet in oven. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.

Remove the plastic wrap from the bowl, and carefully punch the center of the dough. Lightly pull the dough from the sides of the bowl.

Lightly dust the counter with flour. Place the dough ball on the floured surface. Use a dough scraper, pizza cutter or knife to cut the dough in half or thirds. Depending on if you’d like 2 pizza’s or 3.

Get out some parchment paper, and dust lightly with flour. Place one ball of pizza dough in the center, and roll out the dough into a large circle. Moving the rolling pin in different directions. I like to roll my dough till it’s about 1/4 to ½ inch thick. Do the same with the remaining dough, on separate sheets of parchment paper.

Add your pizza sauce first, fresh or shredded mozzarella, and any other toppings you like.

Use a cutting board to help slide the pizza and parchment paper onto the pizza stone in the oven at 500 Degree oven for 8-10 minutes.

Remove the pizza when the crust is slightly browning on the edges, with a cutting board. Cut the pizza in 6-8 slices, and enjoy!

My father sent me his recipe for pizza dough and I added my own little touch to create this masterpiece. If you know my dad, you know that anything bread, or pizza is his forte. So I knew when I tried his recipe it was going to be everything I had hoped for!

Notes

This recipe makes 2, 12″ Diameter Pizza’s or 4 small individual sized pizzas.
Our favorite toppings are, pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella cut into thin circles, shredded parmesan, pepperoni’s, and top it off with fresh basil. This is a restaurant worthy pizza!
For larger parties, double the recipe. I double this recipe for my family of 5, and we save the left overs to enjoy later!
